MOSES, 2021

Short Film, 27'48"

(Filmed Ashdod, Israel, 2019)

The video "MOSES" provides a significant cultural perspective derived from the documentary-interview narrative of the central character. Moses is a post-hero depicting his survival life in Israel's deprived neighborhoods, serving as a critical social mirror for the modern era. The character wanders the beach with a metal detector, emphasizing the motif of the flâneur – an urban explorer discovering the city through walking and investigation. The search for coins on the beach creates tension and humor, highlighting the sense of discovery and adventure while portraying the complex Israeli identity through the lens of societal challenges and survival.
